This is the Dearborn house that was raided in September 2001, just a short time after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The house was raided because it was rented to an individual who was on the FBI's suspected terrorist list, Nabil al-Marabh. Nabil al-Marabh was not there, but inside the apartment were Karim Koubriti, Ahmed Hannan and Farouk Ali-Haimoud, along with key evidence in the case. Agents found False Identity Documents, Airport I.D. Badges, Radical Islamic Fundamentalist Audio Tapes, a Surveillance Video Tape labeled "Le-Prince," and a Day Planner that contained Sketches of an American Air Base in Turkey and a Military Hospital in Jordan. The fourth defendant, Abdel-Elah Elmardoudi was arrested in North Carolina in November 2002. When Elmardoudi was arrested he had three fake foreign passports, seven Social Security cards and $83,000 in cash. |

Some of the defendants' fingerprints were found on key pages of the sketches, and testimony and other evidence linked the defendants to other items found in the apartment and to Nabil Al-Marabh. One of the defendants could also be placed in Turkey. Al-Marabh was arrested in suburban Chicago, and later deported. Judge Gerald Rosen wouldn't allow the prosecution to introduce evidence in the trial that would have linked the defendants to suspected terrorist, Nabil al-Marabh. Despite that, the defendants were still convicted by a jury. |

On September 17, 2001, a video tape was seized from the search of the Norman Street residence. The taped was deceptively labeled "Le-Prince" on the outside. The tape was in European format, meaning it does not work in an American VHS/VCR machine, and could not have been filmed with an American camcorder. The tape was sliced/spliced. It is not in chronological order. It is a collection of shots of places in Disneland and Las Vegas, not a documentation of a trip. |

On September 17,2001, approximately 150 cassette tapes were seized from the search of the Norman Street residence. These tapes were prepared by a radical Islamic fundamentalist group of Salifists. The tapes are used to indoctrinate and inculcate the listener into developing a similar radical mindset. |
The following are some of the excerpts from the audio tapes: "Allah, take away the Jews and the Christians, and whoever helped them and stood with them." "Oh Allah, take your enemy, the enemy of religion, that prevented your religion and provoked your religious instructions. Oh Allah, take them away." "Oh Allah, kill them all and don't keep any of them alive." "Oh Allah, be without them and whoever believed with them." "Oh Allah, destroy them with total destruction." |
